Our Story
FunoonArab was founded by a group of art lovers and art enthusiasts who perceived a gap in the art market specifically in the Arab region. We noticed that gifted Arab artists, along with many art forms that depict the Arab culture and heritage do not get their due recognition because of market inconsistencies and injustices.
We came together through our passion for art and our desire to revive heritage art forms and founded FunoonArab, an enterprise encompassing a variety of ventures focused on supporting artists and art in the Arab world.

FunoonArab was founded with a lofty objective: to shine a light on Arabic art and masterpieces in the middle East, while granting artists their much-deserved recognition.

Meet the Team
Raed Taha
Founder
Raed is a senior professional with over 25 years of experience in the financial, ICT and Fintech sectors. He held senior positions with regional and world renown ICT companies such as Nour Smart Solutions and Nour Pay in (Saudi), Waseela For Telecom Consultations (Dubai), RedLine (Canada) as well as worked with financial institutions such as JP Morgan Chase Bank (Vancouver Canada) and the Egyptian Arab Land Bank in Palestine. He holds a BA in Economics, Master in Information Systems from the University of Jordan, Master of Applied Finance from the University Of Western Sydney as well as PhD in History, Macquarie University.
Shadi El Khatib
Partner and Co-Founder
Mr. Al-Khatib is the executive director of Aswaq since the beginning of 2016, which leads Palestine Investment Fund’s (PIF) strategic investments in listed Palestinian companies. He has more than 15 years of senior working experience in capital market investments which covers a wide range of economic sectors such as commercial, Islamic banking, telecommunications and light and agro industries. ▪ He holds a Masters degree in Finance and investments from the University of Sydney, Australia and a B.S. in Financial Management from the University of Arab Academy of Science and Technology in Egypt, Cairo.
Sami Nabuls
Board Member
A seasoned executive with over two decades of private equity, investment banking, and asset management experience with leading private, public and government institutions in the region. Sami was the CEO of Capital Investments, a regional investment bank. Prior to joining, Sami was an executive at Dubai based Amanat Holdings PJSC. Sami has a solid history of board of directors’ experience with over 10 board representations in several organizations. ▪ Sami holds a Bachelor degree in Finance and Accounting from McGill University in Canada and MBA in Finance from New York Institute of Technology. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of CFA Institute.
Firas Safieddine
Board Member
Firas has more than 30 years of experience in entrepreneurship and finance and has built a wealth of experience in M&A activities, private equity transactions and hands-on management of enterprises across the region. He has been exposed to a long list of sectors and led many turnaround mandates for distressed companies. Firas held various positions mainly as the Vice Chairman of the Capital Market Authority in Lebanon. Firas holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Agriculture and an MBA from the Chicago University.
Jacques El Bustany
Partner
Currently the CEO of Ramla Real Estate development in Saudi Arabia, with previous international experience in co-founding and managing companies in the fields of design, trading, real estate development and contracting. Jacques has a Master of Architecture from the Lebanese University.
Nael Anabtawi
Partner
Mr. Nael Anabtawi the Chief Executive Officer of Anabtawi Group; he attended Moorpark High School in California - USA, and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and marketing management at the University of California in Los Angeles, California - USA.His role in Anabtawi Group's management began in 2002. He later became the General Manager of Anabtawi from 2015 to 2021, after which he became the CEO of the entire Anabtawi Group.
